The Void and the Grox

Okay, to start out I'm going to do a bit of Spore fan fiction that has been growing in my head for a bit...here goes nothing.

The Grox. When you think of them, Grox that is, you may find yourself imagining a hulking beast bent on destruction of every known sentient race in the galaxy. Or, if you have happened to come across one of these creatures, you may be thinking of a small, rodent-like cyborg who dwells in the cener of the our galaxy. But this illusion is far from the truth.

In order to comprehend the sheer scale of the grox threat, you must look back countless melleniums to an elder race of aliens known as the "Kerigoth". This advance species ruled the galaxy peacfully until a cult known as the "Grox" used Kerigoth technoligy to create a Quazar- a super-massive balck hole in the center of the Galaxy. Thought to be a path to salvation and their heaven, these Grox knew little that they were unleashing a species of demonic brethren from within an alternate reality- The Void, known today as Dark Matter. One by one the Kerigoth worlds fell, until the last "heirarch", known as Spode, devised a plan to rid the galaxy of this scourge once and for all. The entire Kerigoth race, led by Spode, dived deep into the Quazar and sacraficed their life energy to close this rip in space. As the black hole closed, and the void's anchor to our world destroyed, the void still trapped within our galaxy began to phase out of our reality.

Spode knew one thing the other Kerigoth did not, however: that the void would rise again, and bring a new species as their followers, their slaves, their "Grox". So, placed on ten seperate planets, he develpoed the scrolls of spode as a warning. many alien races, after finding these tenents, thought of Spode only as a god, and did not uncover the true meaning of the warning. That is, until the grox would rise again, and the void unleashed back into our world...
