The Origami Killer

Okay, I got this idea that's been rolling in my head for the past few days, and I want to ask you guys what you think of it. Best part is, it may have enough action in it and good enough characters that I may actually keep it.

Its called How to Save a Life, and it revolves around a series of homicidal murders that have taken place throughout Chicago. The killer leaves no evidence of the murder, no finger prints, no stray hairs, no traces of DNA, except the simple origami piece left at the scene of the crime. Known as The Origami Killer, he's on the FBI's most wanted list, but for the past year he's evaded every investigation that the FBI, CIA, Police Force, and Federal Government have put through...often resulting in the death of the investigators, a single origami piece the only evidence turned up on the sense of murder.

Mars Alexander was a former FBI agent living a successful and happy life on the edges of the Chicago suburbs with his wife, Miranda, and two Twin boys, Mathew and Joshua. However, when a gang hit-and-run attack results in the death of his 8-year old son, Joshua, Mars' life is turned upside down. Now divorced and having left the FBI, he lives with his other son, Matt, who he had become increasingly distant to. However, when Matt is captured by the Origami Killer, Mars pushes everything he has aside and re-joins the FBI in the hopes of saving the only thing left in his life to love.
Throughout the story, he meets up with two companions: Chloe, a private investigator who is constantly fearful of when the Origami Killer with ultimately kill her, and Logan, a 19-year-old gang member hunting down the Killer after a deal gone sour ends with the death of most of his crew, yet he also *spoilers* happens to be one of those who killed Mars' first son, Joshua.

So, what do you think? suggestions (what withe the origami ect) would be much appreciated

Carpathia has a kinda western feel, which is cool, but my favorite is Dos Fuegos, which my blog is (of course) named after.

It's a very safe sight, just a place to buy music sheets, so you dont have to worry about anything really. As far as band goes, i play the trombone, and in strings I play the viola (a larger, richer sounding version of the violin). The deep stuff in Carpathia is Low Brass, where the trombones are, while you can hear my solo (yes, solo!) at around 2:22 in Dos Fuegos.

Memories of Summer 2009

So, school starts tomorrow. Which is both good and bad. On one side, i get to see some friends that i haven't seen in a while...but on the flip side, im going to be bogged down with homework, chased by hectic schedules, and haunted by the ever-present social issues that find their way into every middle school hallway (yes, we have to share the same building with the elementary kids..but with a size of only 300, that's not that bad). Oh, one other thing...summers OVER!!! *cries*

To ease my mind of the self-imposed sorrow and rage that is flowing through my veins (that might have come out a bit thick :P), i've decided to write down my favorite moments of the summer. So here, in no particular order, is my Memories of Summer 2009.

-Playing Halo 3 with my sister, friend, and cousin...while having Don't Stop Believing playing on full volume and singing tunelessly at the top of our lungs until midnight. We may have had a bit to many diet cokes that night...

-Sitting in the middle of times square and people-watching. The irony that NYC is the least prejudice city int he world...people would walk by two gay guys (i'm meaning that in the factual sense) and not give a glance. I dunno, im not prejudice or anything, but that left a pretty big impact on me..you'd have to be there to understand I guess

-Climbing the full 5000 something feet to the top of Grandfather Mountain and fully comprehending the sheer awe and beauty of where i live (see Photography Part 1)

-The hours i spent reading on my newly-built deck, the radio playing old 80's rock while the sun dipped below the rolling hills and submerged the mountainside inot twilight

-watching the Lion King Broadway show..with front row seats. It was nothing short of amazing

-Spending the day with my friend building mountain bike trails with some of my mom's work partners, then heading to the YMCA, and eating icecrem from Sonic ont he 45-minutes ride back.

-Dressing up as a zombie and having a blast making a movie that wouldn't probably make it to most second-hand video stores. And then heading to McDonald's and having dinner with about 20 other people...while still in our zombie outfits.

-Spending the day uptown during the Independence Day parade with a bunch of my friends, than spending the rest of the night watching a bunch of collage students mess around with Tennessee Fireworks during a pretty big Fourth of July party

And..that's about it. I can't really think of anything else. But thats soem of my favorite memories of summer for you...hope you were interested.

The Big Scoop on the Big Apple

Okay, this is way overdo, seeing that i left over two weeks ago, but i've been busy..with camp. Its a university sponsored thing, called UREC (no points to whoever figures out what that stands for), and is a lot of fun at times..and a lot of not fun at others. For example, Today (Thursday) Me and a few other campers my age, along with my sister, did a huge diving/jumping competition at the pool, along with Playing Dodgeball in the gym and hanging out at the University Solarium after lunch. However, we actualy had a dance class- dance class! - at the end of the day, which wasn't that bad i guess. I mean, we all looked like dorks compared tot he director person, so i decided to make the most of it and really get into it- as a huge joke of course. It was actually kinda funny to see all those people barely moving while im completley grooving out...it was a major lol moment :). However, im not too ecstatic about going this and next week, as school starts directly after I finish. Yep, we go to school in August. That should be illegal.

Anyhow, back to NYC. To put bluntly, the city was big..and crowded..and noisy..and had the best hot dogs ever. You had taxis take you wherever you wanted, though most things were in walking distance, and there wasn't a building under 10 stories high as far as you could see. Central Park was nice, but very, very artificial compared to where I live..all the trees in nice little rows, rocks place too convienently for picture taking, you get the picture. The city in and of itself was very intimidating in a way..but there was so much to do, so i cant say If i was relieved or disappointing when we left..probably a mixture of both.
We took a huge boat tour around Manhattan (that was interesting for like the first hour and a half before it got boring), Went to the Natural History museum (again big, crowded, and noisy) and got front row tickets to THE Lion King on Broadway. As in, the REAL THING, not some traveling community. The show followed the story of the movie, yes, but other than that it focused solely on African culture and traditions. Each of the animals was a person (or more in the case of the elephants and rhinos) in a costume, and the way they moved and acted was scarily like their actual animal counterpart. From the beginning song to the climatic ending, I was captivated into he show, and have to say that it was one of the best times of my life. When the animals came in from the isles at the very beginning to witness the birth of simbah, the girl on the isle across from me had her whole face lite up..jaw agape and everything. I think that my face mirrored hers in more ways than i would admit. I could go on and on about this, but to put short it was well worth the price of admission, and if you ever see any traveling bands, or get the opportunity to go to NY yourself, i HIGHLY recommend seeing it.
As far as Times Square, It was bright, crowded, and expensive, but had a lot of things to do in it. I guess you could say the same thing for New York in whole, and it was one of the best places i've ever visited in my life...not that i would want to live there or anything ;)
